Week Ahead | Markets Embrace for Busy Data week & Brexit Concerns Weighs in on Sterling Pound

Monday

  • AUD Home Loans

To start off the week by dawn Australia will release their Home Loans which are an indicator of activity in the housing market. Prior details shows that home loans and housing market sales is a large portion of their GDP. Markets do not have much economic data to react towards on Monday all focus will shift to political uncertainty.

 

Tuesday

  • Germany Harmonized Index & ZEW Survey
  • UK Unemployment

Tuesday will be a busier day than the prior to kick it off Germany will release their Harmonized Index which is a key indicator on the current inflationary levels of Germany. Which is the largest contributor of the euro economy. Followed by Germany’s ZEW Survey which is a key indicator of their current Economic conditions and their Investor confidence in that market.

Finally to conclude the busy day, UK will release their unemployment data which will be a key indicator of their current economic condition after Brexit took off.

 

Wednesday

  • Euro Zone Gross Domestic Product
  • US Core Retail Sales

Euro Zone Gross Domestic Product is a measure of the total value of all goods and services produced by the Eurozone. The GDP is considered as a broad measure of the Eurozone economic activity and health followed by US Core Retail Sales and Changes in Retail Sales are widely followed as an indicator of consumer spending

 

Thursday

  • Housing Starts & Initial Jobless Claims

Thursday will be a day dedicated only for US economic data majorly and first release will be Housing Starts which will be a key indicator of the current Housing Market and its Growth. Followed by reports from US as well on Initial Jobless Claims which is a key data to be recorded for their future Rate Hikes and Economic Policies.

 

Friday

  • Euro Consumer Price Index
  • US Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index

To conclude the semi-busy week, eurozone will release their Consumer Price Index which indicates the Inflationary Levels and also a significant way to measure changes in purchasing trends. US will also release their Michigan Sentiment Index which is a survey of personal consumer confidence in economic activity. It shows a picture of whether or not consumers are willing to spend money
