17th July 2017 - 21st July 2017
Monday A quiet day for US Dollar as US markets will be looking at the 3 month and 6 month bill auction later in the day. During the Evening we will be faced with the consumer price index from the Euro zone Tuesday The day is filled with a handful of mid-tier events from UK. We are specifically looking at consumer price index which is a measure of price movements by the comparison between the retail prices of a representative shopping basket of goods and services. This is followed by range of price related indexes (EX: Producer Price Index, PPI Core Output & Retail Price Index) The latter of the day occupies USD events such as export price index and import price index which informs the changes in the price of imported products into the US. The higher the cost of imported goods, the stronger the effect they will have on inflation. The same applies for exports as it monitors the changes in price of exported products from the US. Wednesday The UK will have its inflation reports hearing during the day which will pull in data from various bodies that contribute to the inflation as whole. Expenditure, administration, treasury policy & revenue & customs which are just the few that will be examined during the hearing. The remaining half of the day is occupied with the US housing session which would look at the number of new homes constructed as well as indicating the number of building permits issued so that the number of construction projects can be tracked as well. Thursday Two major players, Japan and the Euro Sone will be having interest rate decision taking place where they will analyze their economic conditions such as retail sales, unemployment rate to name a few and make a decision based on the outlook of events such as these. The Euro Zone will also have a monetary policy statement where the ECB President gives a press conference regarding monetary policy. His comments may influence the volatility of EUR and determine a short-term positive or negative trend. Friday A quiet end to the week as only mid-tier data will be released in the day. Early morning UK will release Public Sector Net Borrowing captures an amount of new debt held by the U.K. governments. The day will end with Canada releasing Consumer Price Index which is a measure of price movements by the comparison between the retail prices of a representative shopping basket of goods and services.
