Week Ahead | Trump Uncertainty

Monday

Today will be light day in terms of International Top Tier Data. But some worth mentioning data will be released from Germany. Trade Balance will give us an insight on the import and Export sector growth of the country. This will be followed by Euro Unemployment report for Nov which will give a significant indication of the Euro Zone growth and the level of expansion of Euro Zone economy.

Tuesday

Another light day with not many major data to be released worldwide. Morning we will see reports released from China on their Consumer Price Index for 2016 which is a key indicator to measure the inflation and changes in purchasing trends, followed by reports from Swiss on Unemployment rate which will give a significant indication of the Swiss Economic growth and the level of expansion.

Wednesday

Day starts with reports released from UK on Manufacturing Production & Industrial Production changes in Industrial Productions are widely followed as major indicator of strength in the manufacturing sector.

This will be followed by GDP Estimate released by the national institute of Economic and Social Research. This is an estimate of growth over the last 2 months up to the report which comes out a month before the official announcement. This report is highly reliable and would influence the UK Monetary policy.

Thursday

The focus of this week will be on ECB Monetary Policy meeting minutes which gives us a clear indication of the an overview of financial market, economic and monetary developments of Euro Zone. Shortly after this  US will be releasing reports on Initial Jobless Claims which is a measure of the number of people filling first time claims for state unemployment insurance. A Larger than expected number indicates weakness in this market which influences the strength and direction of the US Economy.

NZD will release reports on Electric Card Retail Sales which gives us an insight on the purchasing trend of New Zealand on Card Sales. This figure gives a hint on the strength in the retail sector and influences interest rate decisions.

Friday

The highlight of the day will be Federal Reserve chairperson Janet Yellen’s speech followed by reports from US by late afternoon on Retail Sales. Changes in Retail Sale are widely followed as an indicator of consumer spending.
